This 30-minute documentary celebrates the 400th anniversary of the voyage of the Mayflower, the ship that brought the Pilgrims to present-day Massachusetts in 1620. Among the topics covered in the video are the following:
- the Mayflower
- who the Pilgrims were, what they believed, and how they worshipped
- what made the Pilgrims distinct, and how they differed from the Puritans
- the Pilgrims’ relations with the native Americans
- the Pilgrims’ observance of Thanksgiving
- the Pilgrims’ legacy and how they served as inspiration to others
Dr. Frank J. Smith, pastor of ARPC and lecturer of history at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC), hosted and produced the video. Dr. T.J. Arant, Provost of GGC, provided a brief introduction.
